Show: Belles of the Ball Performance Feb. 18, 2006

We were greatly honored to be the special featured guest artists at this event. It was located in the very small town of Batesburg/Leesville in a cute little theater. It was a very different experience for us to perform in a theater with a very raised stage. Saidi Belles, the sponsors of this event were heavenly to deal with. We had dressing rooms complete with a little gold Alchemy star, water and granola bars provided for the dancers, lineups posted everywhere, and even flowers afterwards. Believe me, Saidi Belles knows how to treat their dancers! The audience was definitely one that was new to belly dance and once they warmed up and figured out how they were supposed to respond to the dancers, I think they enjoyed the show very much. I must say my favorite part of the evening though was when we did improv in the front lobby at the end of the show to our drummers, Vincent, and Denys all drumming for us. It was one of those moments when everything just gelled. :) ~Mari
