Okay guys I am not gonna lie...I was not excited about dancing Friday night. *gasp* I know, I know, the glee club will probably be here at any moment to kick me out. I was afraid that we would end up just freezing our little touchie's off out there all by ourselves, being that it was 32 degrees and all. But the crowd did not let us down! Not quite as many people as we had last time, but everyone knows that First Friday slows down during the winter months. It was Mari, Akantha, and I dancing this time and we performed the new number Gabe's Cat, along with tribal improv to Carol of the bells for the holiday season. Mari and I tried our hand at I wanna see you belly dance, and wow I never realized how much I lean on Jeannie for the choreography! Sorry Mari! But, we just faked it and still had fun. All in all the cold didn't bother me too much as we did our usual 2 hour dance nazi party, only resting to change the music. It's so hard to get people to stop and watch, once you've got them there you don't want to let them get bored! We did cut it short about 30 mins. when we saw that people had huddled inside the clubs for warmth. Knowing we had the Hafla to go to the next night we decided to get some rest before dancing again. Thanks again everyone for coming out to support us!

This was a difficult event to get revved up for. All day on the radio I kept hearing that the weather was supposed to be in the twenties. I was so worried I'd be a bellydance popsicle, I gave a whole new meaning to layering! I wore a body stocking, yoga pants, harem pants, skirt, panel skirt, and two scarves. And, that was just my bottom half! One of our dance-nazis, Jeannie, was unable to make it. She was sorely missed. We danced just about everything we danced last First Friday, plus some Tribal group Improv to This Ascension's version of Carol of the Bells and Solace's Chiftetelli. We did add two group choreographies. One was the skirt number we debuted at Iliana's birthday party (a skirt number to Light Rain's Gabe's Cat choreographed by Tasma). The other was a lively tambourine number choreographed by Tasma to the sultan's Emine. All in all, we were well received considering the weather. There were several people asking about costumes, yes we can make them for you! Our bazaar section is up and running on the site now.
