[ soloist | seamstress ]
Riding in from the south is Ame, with hair the color of the desert and a tongue
sharper than the sultan's sword. She dances like the sun at noon, full of intensity
and vigor, and leaves a great thirst after she has gone. From a distant land she has
traveled; some say so far she has forgotten its true name. But in that place she
remembers beautiful fabrics, soft and silky to the touch, ornate and beautiful,
colors like the desert sunset. And there she creates the clothes and costume that
adorns many a dancer and sultan afar.
